The Municipality of Almopia, one of the four municipalities of the Regional Unit of Pella, is located at the northern end of Macedonia, on the border with North Macedonia. With an area of 986 square kilometres and a population of 27,556 inhabitants (2011 census), it is an area where unspoilt nature, traditional settlements and thermal springs make up a magical mosaic. The seat of the municipality, Aridaia, is the administrative and commercial centre of the region, linking the historical past with modern development.

“ALMOPIA”
The name “Almopia” comes from the Almopes, an ancient Greek tribe that settled in the area during the prehistoric period. According to mythology, the region was the land of the Giants, giving it an air of mysticism and power that is still preserved today.
