Cherry Jam is a delicious traditional recipe that retains the natural sweetness and aroma of cherries. The preparation process is simple, and the result is ideal for breakfast or to accompany desserts and cheeses.

Ingridients

  • 1 kilo of cherries (weighed after cleaning)
  • 1/2 kilo of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice

Execution

  1. Preparation of the cherries: Peel the cherries, removing the pits over the pot you will be using, so as to preserve their natural juices.
  2. Layering and Boiling: In the pot, alternate layers of cherries and sugar. Place the pot over high heat until the mixture comes to a boil and then lower the heat.
  3. Boiling and Shaving: Skim off the foams created on the surface and stir with a wooden spoon. Boil the jam for about 25 to 40 minutes, until it thickens.
  4. Sealing and Storage: Once the jam is ready, divide it into sterile jars while it is still hot. Seal the jars and place them upside down on the counter until they cool. Store in a cool place.
