Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Saviour

At a distance of 1.5 km from the village of Marina, at the southernmost end of the Holy Metropolis of Edessa, Pella and Almopia, is the Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Saviour.

It is the newest monastery of the Metropolis, as it was founded in 2004, on a site where there was a chapel dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Saviour, which dates back to the beginning of the 19th century. A small fraternity settled there, which enlightens the spiritual and social life of the region. The monastery is celebrated on August, the feast of the Transfiguration of the Saviour.
