About Quince paste
Quince paste is a traditional Greek dessert that uses the aromas and natural sweetness of quince and quince, creating a delicious and aromatic result. It is ideal for spreading on bread or as an accompaniment to cheeses and other delicacies.
Ingridients
- 2 kg of quinces
- 1 kilo of apples, preferably apple slices
- Water (enough to cover the fruit)
- 1 kilo of sugar
Execution
- Fruit preparation: wash the quinces and apples very well. Cut the fruit into quarters and remove the seeds.
- Boiling: Place the cut fruit in a large saucepan. Add water, enough to cover the fruit completely. Boil the fruit until it is tender and the flavours come out.
- Drained Juice: Remove the fruit from the pot and drain the remaining juice. For every 1.5 kg of juice, add 1 kg of sugar.
- Binding the Paste: Return the sugar and juice to the saucepan and boil until the mixture thickens well and reaches the desired consistency.
Quince paste can be stored in sterile jars and is ready to add fragrance and sweetness at any time of the day.
